LEED credentials distinguish professionals across many disciplines by representing fundamental knowledge of green building and a commitment to sustainability. They serve as a mark of qualification, education and influence, and assure employers, industry peers, policymakers and other stakeholders of an individual’s exceptional competencies.
LEED AP with specialty credentials demonstrate technical expertise in specific fields within green building, while the LEED Green Associate credential serves as a less-technical option for professionals in other fields. LEED APs with specialty hold a thorough understanding of the LEED rating systems and are well prepared to guide project teams through the certification process.
The LEED AP without specialty credential was retired in 2009 with the introduction of LEED AP with specialty credentials.
